How to find your PC name on Windows

To find your PC name on Windows, you can use the Settings app, the Control Panel, or the command line. 


Using the Settings app 
  1. Press Windows+i to open the Settings app
  2. Select System
  3. Click About in the left sidebar
  4. Your PC name is listed next to Device Name
Using the Control Panel 
  1. Open the Control Panel
  2. Click System and Security then System
  3. Find your PC name under Computer name, domain, and workgroup settings
Using the command line 
  1. Type cmd /k hostname into the start menu and hit Enter
  2. Your PC name will be displayed in the first line of the command prompt window
You can also find your PC's model, manufacturer, and operating system by opening the System Information window. 
Every computer has a unique name, which can also be called a serial number or service tag.
